Leadership & Psychology in Colonial Boston

History and psychology have always been interests of mine so I decided to combine them for my EDGE project. I traveled to Boston, Massachusetts to visit the sites on the Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail is a marked path throughout the city that connects significant sites from the Revolutionary War. There were several people during that time that made those sites significant because of their exemplary leadership skills during a time of chaos.

I completed preliminary research on these sites so that I would know the history of them before I saw them. As I researched these sites, events, and people I tried to develop these qualities in my own life. I also applied my knowledge of psychology – specifically social psychology, stress, and motivation – to accounts of these events to better understand what needed to happen in order for the colonists to overcome the reigning country of England.
